West Coast Swing Peer Practica / Group Practice Session - Sun June 22nd 3pm @ Fonzie's Dance City

Depending on the month, it will be 1.5 - 2 hours long.

1-2 people (typically that month's Practica Leaders — usually the most energetic person) will facilitate and moderate timing of all drills, activities, and games.

We start off with 1-2 Song Warm Up social dancing with each other, switching partners (optional) every 1.5 minutes or so.

After the warm up dancing. 1-2 People will lead the group in group drills — such as footwork drills, body movement drills, games and activities (such as the "jar of death" so coined by Patrick), or other group programming.

Then the group will announce their own personal goals for the month to other participants. This is to help keep everyone accountable and optimize the process.

Everyone will social dance together working on their own personal goals, and giving / receiving SUBJECTIVE (not objective) feedback to their partner.

We rotate partners each song (approximately 3-4 minutes each)

Optional: we will have a Feedback Jam Session. Where 1-2 partners will dance for the group members, and the group members will provide 2 things they thought were incredible and 1 item that SUBJECTIVELY (not objectively) they saw that could be improved.

We always end all Group Peer Practica Sessions with a for-fun social dance session where everyone stops self-critiquing and just social dances for the joy of dancing.

This is A Non-Refundable Pre-Registration. We need a minimum of 4 LEADS and 4 FOLLOWS to hold this session. If session does not make, your pre-registration will roll-over to the following month.

this Peer Practica is open to anyone who already has an understanding of the west coast swing basics. this is not instructor-led. you will not be taught how to dance during this group practice session. this is a space for people to practice the material they were already taught by their instructor.

if you utilize this time and space to get individualized coaching, you will be asked to not return to these sessions. that is not the purpose of these sessions.

you may at any point ask to nOT receive SUBJECTIVE feedback from your peers. Remember: SUBJECTIVE Feedback is a type of information or evaluation based on personal opinions, feelings, and perceptions rather than objective facts or measurable data.
